This is the use of an adapted yoga method as a therapy for psychological trauma. It is a 'hands-off' therapy that helps people with previous trauma to improve their mind-body connection, and to have control over their own mind. This is believed to help in the achievement of a well rounded healing of body and mind

Caution
  • It is safe

  • Discuss your concerns with a healthcare giver; do not rely on yoga alone as treatment for serious issues

Comments
  • It has similarities with postural yoga

  • The individual is given independence during the session and the therapist does not use any physical hands-on adjustment to influence the individual's body form

  • It does not treat conditions but it may be useful to use alongside other methods of recognised treatment options

  • There is no strong scientific evidence to back its claims
