This is the consumption of juice made from raw fruits and vegetables for health promotion purposes. It is often done as an addition to the regular diet. When it used to replace the regular diet, it is referred to as juice fasting

Caution
  • Juice fasting without regular diet is not appropriate for Diabetics


  • It is poor in fibre, and may affect stool composition in a negative manner


  • Juice should be consumed as soon as possible after blending


  • If taken without regular diet, it can lead to significant nutritional defficiencies

Comments
  • It is still not as good as eating the fruits, vegetables and whole grains


  • Has been in use for centuries in Asia


  • Many of the benefits of fruits and vegetable are lost during commercial juice preparations
