A form of contraception worn inside the vagina. They are thin, soft and usually comfortable

Caution
  • There are no serious side effects


  • 5 out of 100 women will still become pregnant with Femidom use


  • Place in the vagina before contact with penis otherwise it may be less effective


  • It may get pushed too far back into the vagina


Therapy for:
  • Prevents pregnancy


  • Protects against STIs

Comments
  • They are not to be re-used


  • They come already lubricated but you may use additional lubrication, oil or water based


  • Insertion can interrupt sex but it may be incorporated into foreplay


  • Sharp fingernails and jewellery may damage the femidom
