It is the pushing of fluids through the anus and rectum into the lower bowel in order to achieve a better state of health. It is safely practiced by healthcare givers. Alternate care have many uses for enemas, and there are differences in the types of fluid used, the intention, and the manner through which it is performed
Caution
The anus and rectum can be damaged by the chosen method, or irritated by the fluid content
The bowel can be perforated
The individual can suffer from significant imbalance of their electrolytes
It can lead to internal bleeding
Frequent use can lead to dependency
The heart may become irregular during the process of performing the enema
Be cautious if you have IBS (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) or haemorrhoids
Therapy for:
Colon Cleansing: To remove toxins from the body
Colonic irrigation: to clean out the rectum and lower bowel
Rectal Douching: to clean the anus and rectum before engaging in a sexual act
Klismaphilia: enemas taken purely for self gratification or sexual pleasure

Scientific evidence does not support enemas being favourable to wellbeing, unless they are prescribed by medical practitioners
Many reputable institutions had issued bans and warnings against the use of enemas for non-medically precribed reasons
