Once trained on its techniques, the individual practices on themselves without the need for a Hypnotherapist
You can have a short practice with these steps:
(1) Choose a quiet place
(2) Adopt a comfortable position, sitting, reclinining or lying down
(3) Remove accessories including tight jewellery, belts, glasses and contact lenses
(4) Close your eyes
(5) Focus attention on your breaths and slow it down, make it deep and let your abdomen do most of the breathing
(6) Say to yourself quietly and very slowly, 'I am completely calm and relaxed' (6 times)
(7) Focus on the different parts of your body as you slowly and quietly say the script below:
'My right arm is very heavy' (3 times)
'I am completely calm and relaxed'
'My left arm is very heavy' (3 times)
'I am completely calm and relaxed'
My right leg is very heavy (3 times)
'I am completely calm and relaxed'
My Left leg is very heavy (3 times)
'I am completely calm and relaxed' said slowly many times until you finish
